Whoa–what happened to spring?? Monday evening we had a small thunderstorm pass through with tiny hail and some rain but during the night it rained a lot–almost an inch of moisture which is very, very welcome this time of year! We’ve planted some grass seed and have spent a lot of time watering–last night’s rain will take care of the watering for a couple days!
Each year Big Timber hosts a community wide garage sale and although I am NOT a fan of having garage sales, we always seem to do well at this one. So, we’ve both been trying to ruthlessly select “stuff” to place in the garage sale–we will be set up at Nat’s and let’s hope for good, warm weather!
Today my friend Jill and I went to Billings to keep another friend company as her husband had surgery. Even considering the seriousness of the event, we enjoyed the company and the lunch which Jill treated us to. Emmi and the Cowboy held down the home fort while I was gone.

That does look like a beautiful spot, I don’t blame you for being ready to return. We have had good moisture this spring probably 2.5 inches so far since the beginning of May, but we just put 20 odd acres into grass today, so a nice little drizzle wouldn’t hurt my feelings. Here on the farm not out by the Bighorn Dam where we and a couple of our grandkids are going ATV’ing. Oh yah, their parents also.

Our friend Ken and Leslie said they had climbed up to the hole in that rock–ONCE! So the rest of us elected not to try!

Do you have mosquitoes there? Black Flies? Beautiful Scenery!!!

Sharon–our annoying critters come in spurts–we have these things we call “sticky flies” which bite but they only hang around for about two weeks right when it starts to get hot. We do have mosquitoes but not horrible at our place, over by the river they can get thick.

The trick is to not come home with new stuff from the large garage sale! Beautiful pics – that red rock is amazing. So glad the fire is getting contained. Our Tombstone friends’ son is fighting on the line.

Garage sales are sometimes necessary. I had thought about one for Saturday, but with 108 predicted that “thought” was fried. Maybe in the fall when it’s cooler….much cooler.
