A Glad We Live In Montana Kind Of Day

On this Memorial Day the Cowboy and I wish to thank all those who died in service to this country.  You and your families paid the ultimate price and we thank you.  This photo was taken by John Novotny, the retired band teacher at our local high school who was kind enough to give me permission to use.

It’s been a pleasant Memorial Day weekend with decent weather unlike most Memorial Day weekends when it snows!  Today the bar was raised and it was one of those “why we live in Montana” kind of days.  Clear blue skies, fluffy white clouds and vivid green everywhere you looked.  The rivers and creeks are roaring with spring snow melt–a perfect day to try out the new CanAm.

We met the rest of our gang at Lonn’s and off we went collecting Michael’s (that would be Katie’s Michael) brother-in-law in Livingston.  Sarge and Sarah also joined us after we were out of town and in their neck of the woods. The valley between Livingston and Yellowstone National Park is called the Paradise and there’s a reason for that name–

Soaring mountains and the Yellowstone River–a little slice of Paradise! We were a few weeks early for ATV riding in the mountains and our ride ended at a USFS closed gate.  We simply backtracked a ways and had our lunch beside the creek–

Brooks rode in his car seat in Grandpa Lonn’s RZR with Mom Katie driving–he was a trooper!  I think he likes ATV riding!
